Tonight, St.Jude Parish had a "Fund Raiser" for the church at a local hall. It consisted of cocktails, a delicious chicken dinner and dancing (for those who are interested.) There were 32 prizes on raffle tickets and 10 larger items that were done on a silent auction. Needless to say, Dad and I didn't win anything!! Some of our church friends wanted to attend but don't drive at night (we're all getting to that age!) so we said we'd pick them up. The "cab list" got longer and all of a sudden there were 5 that needed rides which meant 2 cars. So, Dad and I said we'll do it-he would pick up 2 and I would get the other 3. Well, our good intentions were overturned when 2 got a ride from someone else and our friend Ruth was ill and couldn't attend, so we could all fit in one car. The hall was festive and around 200 attended. A fun time was had by all and hopefully, it was a financial success.
