Today was the big day--the Loyola Blood Drive!!
My friend Nicole and I sat at the check-in table today after lunch. We had the blood donors sign in, asked them to read a booklet about donating blood, and gave them stickers. It was quite fun! We were able to talk to the donors before their appointments, and got to know who was or was not a frequent blood donor. We chose the check-in table because we didn't think we could handle the snack table, where the volunteers had to keep running over to the donors who were feeling faint and/or weak! We were lucky that no one fainted while we were on duty either. There were so many participants in the Blood Drive. Two hours into it, already 50 people had their blood drawn, which was really impressive. Maybe next year I'll volunteer more time at the table!www.redcross.org
