Nicole and I are a part of the Community Service Council group at Loyola. This group facilitates some of the major events on campus, including the semi-annual Blood Drive. I highly dislike my blood being drawn due to scar tissue covering my veins from all the IV's as a premie, and Nicole went Africa over the summer, so she couldn't donate blood either. So instead, we decided to sit at a table in the Student Center and ask students walking by if they wanted to donate blood. Surprisingly, we got a lot of people to sign up! We felt that although we couldn't participate ourselves, we helped the American Red Cross and had many fellow classmates willing to give blood to those in need! www.redcross.org
