One of the local churches (Bethany United Methodist Church) was having their Autumn Tea Room and Gift Shop Affair.They havea wonderful menu of different sandwiches, salads. shrimp and grits, etc and the desserts were" Southern Ladies' Specialty Desserts-----made with love! " All proceeds benefit Outreach Ministries of their Church including Children in Crisis,
Meals on Wheels, My Sister's House, Carolina Autism Center and many more. It was
a lovely affair held in the church hall which was decorated for fall and the waitresses
and waiters were all volunteers from the church. They also had a craft room where
things were sold at very reasonable prices. I bought a kit for a Thanksgiving decoration
and an ornament for our Christmas tree, so we will always remember our visit to the
Tea Room. In past years, the church has made around $50,000.00 to use for all their
outreach projects.---might be a good idea for other groups to follow.
