Such a treat! We all look forward to supporting the local Girl Scouts annual Cookie Drive. There are a few scouts in our neighborhood and at at Sophia's gymnastics center, so we will have plenty of these perfect little tea treats this year. Thin Mints and Shortbread Trefoils remain the family favorites. I can still remember selling these cookies door to door when I was a Girl Scout. They cost .50 cents a box way back then; inflation has them at $4.00 now!! Still worth the investment in not just the delicious cookies but the organization's commitment to developing today's young women into the confident and accomplished leaders of tomorrow. http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/
Can one family of five, plus two grandparents, combine efforts and commit to one act of service each day, for one year? Paul, Patricia, twins Bianca & Olivia (age 18), Sophia (age 11), and their Nana and Buppa, plan to honor the 10 year anniversary of the loss of my sister with a year dedicated to service. Together, with maybe the help of a relative here or there, we will commit to 365 days of volunteering, contributing or supporting, in appreciation of what we have.... and who we have lost.
