June 11 is the birthday of one amazing woman, my dear and loving friend Jan. For over a quarter of a century, we have been celebrating the cheers and tears of life together, recognizing each others birthday for the gift it really is....another year to continue growing older and avoiding the alternative! Today, I would like to celebrate her birthday with a memorial gift to the National Parkinson Foundation, in honor of her Mother, Peggy Jane Pence, who lost the fight against Parkinsons. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Pence, I know through Jan, that she was the consummate role model of a devoted, compassionate, selfless, caring and just plain fun mother to her children. How lovely that her legacy lives on through Jan and her siblings.Saturday, June 11, 2011
